Descripción:Ac-Phe-Gly-pNA is a peptidyl prodrug that has been shown to have proteolytic activity against cells of the malignant phenotype. Ac-Phe-Gly-pNA is converted to an active form by serine proteases, which are found on the surface of trophozoites and in cancerous cells. The sequence of Ac-Phe-Gly-pNA is homologous with a protein found in Giardia lamblia, and it has been shown to be active against this parasite. Ac-Phe-Gly-pNA can also be detected with fluorogenic substrates and aminopeptidase activity.
