Ac-L-isoglutamine is a polypeptide made up of uncharged, carboxyl, and acidic amino acids. It has a molecular weight of 575.3 Daltons and an isoelectric point of 3.2. Ac-L-isoglutamine is found in the human body as well as in animal tissues, where it can be found with other proteins or free. This uncharged molecule has a tendency to form ionic bonds with charged molecules such as sodium chloride and potassium chloride. Ac-L-isoglutamine has been shown to have homologues that are chains of amino acids that are similar in structure and function to this molecule.
