• Descripción: Adamantyl-2-chloroacetamide is an analog of adamantyl acetamide and has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Adamantyl-2-chloroacetamide inhibits the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and protein. This compound also shows selectivity for Mycobacterium tuberculosis over other bacteria such as Escherichia coli. Adamantyl-2-chloroacetamide may have a role in the treatment of tuberculosis because it can inhibit the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and protein in Mycobacterium tuberculosis while leaving these functions intact in other bacteria.
