4-Amino-2-chloropyrimidine is a chemical compound that inhibits the activity of cholinesterase enzymes. This inhibition leads to an accumulation of acetylcholine in the synapse, causing an increase in neurotransmitter concentration and an increase in the frequency of cell apoptosis. 4-Amino-2-chloropyrimidine has been shown to be cytotoxic against cancer cells and virus cells. The optical properties and pharmacokinetic properties of this substance have been studied using optical spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, and molecular modeling techniques. 4-Amino-2-chloropyrimidine is also a potential polymerization inhibitor for polyurethane foams.
