2-Amino-4-hydroxy-6-phenylpyrimidine is a chlorinated analogue of bropirimine. It is used as an additive in polyethylene glycol to increase thermal stability and solubility. 2-Amino-4-hydroxy-6-phenylpyrimidine has been shown to be involved in the formation of polyethylene glycol profiles, which are used in the manufacturing of polyurethane foam. 2-Amino-4-hydroxy-6-phenylpyrimidine also has properties that make it suitable for use as an additive for polyethylene glycols, such as being soluble and having a high calorimetric value.
