(3-Amino-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-yl)acetic acid is a ligand that can form chelate rings with metal ions. The functional theory of this compound is that the triazole group will bind to the metal ion and the carboxylate will bind to the anion. This ligand has been synthesized in order to study its parameters and conformation. It has been shown to be magnetic in nature and it is possible for it to form a hydrated chelate ring with a metal ion because of its functional groups.
