The x-ray structure analysis of 2-Amino-5-bromophenyl)(phenyl)methanone reveals that it is a molecule with an intramolecular hydrogen bond. This compound has been synthesized and found to stabilize the conformation of the molecule, thereby promoting the formation of a photoproduct. The fluorescence and ether linkages are also present in this molecule. 2-Amino-5-bromophenyl)(phenyl)methanone is used for the treatment of tuberculosis and other bacterial infections. It has also been shown to have neurotropic properties, which may be due to its ability to affect the nervous system, as well as its hydrazone linkage.
