(4-Amino-2-methylpyrimidin-5-yl)methanol (AMPM) is a chemical compound with nitrogen atoms. It has been shown to have a protective effect against bowel disease, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of ATP-binding cassette transporter and enzymes such as alkanoic acid. AMPM also has been investigated for its potential use in wastewater treatment, as it is able to bind to the surface of microcapsules. This binding prevents the release of pollutant molecules into the environment, making it a promising candidate for use in treating industrial wastewater. AMPM has also been shown to have beneficial effects on autoimmune diseases through its ability to inhibit monoclonal antibody production and atp-binding cassette transporter activity.
