2-Aminothiophene-3-carboxylic acid is a chemical compound that inhibits histamine release in vivo and has been shown to have an antihistaminic activity. It binds to the histamine H1 receptor, thereby preventing the binding of histamine to the receptor. 2-Aminothiophene-3-carboxylic acid inhibits tumor growth by inhibiting the synthesis of proteins and growth factors in cancer cells. This drug also has shown potential for the treatment of prostate cancer. 2-Aminothiophene-3-carboxylic acid is a molecule that comprises an anthranilic group on one end and a methylene group on the other end. This drug has been shown to inhibit protein synthesis in tumor cells through molecular modelling studies.
