3-Amino-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propanoicacid is a growth factor. It has been shown to inhibit cancer cell proliferation and induce tumor cell death in vitro by binding to the hormone receptor on the cell surface. 3-Amino-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propanoicacid inhibits the metabolic activity of cancer cells, leading to a drop in malonic acid and an increase in citric acid cycle metabolites. This compound also enhances platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) synthesis, which leads to an increase in blood pressure.
