Descripción

Amino-2-ethylpyridine is a catalyst that exhibits catalytic activity in the conversion of anhydrous ethanol to anhydrous formaldehyde. Amino-2-ethylpyridine is prepared by the reaction of ethyl pyridine with copper in an anhydrous environment. It is used as a catalyst for many reactions, including the synthesis of 2-ethylpyridine from ethyl pyridine. The conversion of ethanol to formaldehyde is catalyzed by amino-2-ethylpyridine, which reacts with ethanol to produce formaldehyde and ammonium chloride. Amino-2-ethylpyridine has been shown to be effective in converting ethanol to formaldehyde at temperatures below 100°C, making it a convenient catalyst for industrial use.
