1-Amino-1H-pyrrole-2-carbonitrile hydrochloride (APC) is a chemical that can be used to synthesize 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline derivatives. APC undergoes a cyclization reaction with triazine as an intermediate. This reaction produces desulfurization and thiourea as byproducts. The synthesis of APC is industrially important for the production of pesticides such as DDT and Dieldrin.
