cis-1-Amino-3-fluorocyclobutanecarboxylic acid is a molecule that has been shown to inhibit the growth of prostate cancer cells in bladder cancer patients. cis-1-Amino-3-fluorocyclobutanecarboxylic acid is a novel drug for the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. It inhibits the growth of cancer cells by targeting the transcriptional and translational machinery, which are necessary for cell growth. cis-1-Amino-3-fluorocyclobutanecarboxylic acid binds to aldehyde groups on DNA, preventing transcription and protein synthesis. The uptake of this drug into cells is mediated by glucose analogues, such as 2DG and 3DG, which are taken up through glucose transporters. cis-1-Amino-3-fluorocyclobutanecarboxylic acid also inhibits glioma patients
