4-Aminobenzoyl chloride is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH3CO2C6H4NH2. It is a versatile reagent that can be used in the synthesis of many different types of compounds. 4-Aminobenzoyl chloride is commercially available as an off-white solid and has been shown to be chemically stable at high temperatures. This compound is soluble in polar solvents such as water and methanol, but insoluble in nonpolar solvents such as hexane. 4-Aminobenzoyl chloride has shown antibacterial efficacy against Gram-positive bacteria, including penicillin resistant strains, with MIC values of 0.5 to 2 μg/mL and MBC values of 1 to 8 μg/mL.
