Información del producto
- (13C2)acetic acid
Acetic acid-13C2 is a non-natural monocarboxylic acid that is used in the synthesis of erythromycin and other antibiotics. Acetic acid-13C2 is generated by alkylation of acetic acid with acetyl chloride. This two-step process involves the formation of an ester bond between the carboxyl group and the terminal methyl group on acetic acid, followed by addition of 13C2 to the methyl group. The resulting molecule has three chiral centers and six stereogenic centers. The product can be separated into its four stereoisomers through chromatography or crystallization. These four isomers have different biological activities, which may be due to their structural differences.
