This compound has been shown to be a potential biomarker for atherosclerotic lesion. It can be used as a model system for studying the effect of diazonium salts on nitro groups and nitrogen atoms in aromatic rings. 4-Aminophenylarsonic acid also has an ability to bind to zirconium oxide, which makes it useful for complex enzyme reactions. 4-Aminophenylarsonic acid is unstable in aqueous solution, but retains its activity when it is dissolved in organic solvents such as benzene or chloroform.
