- 3-(Acetyloxy)-4-methoxy-benzaldehyde3-Hydroxy-p-anisaldehyde acetate3-Acetoxy-4-methoxybenzaldehyde
O-Acetyl isovanillin is a reactive intermediate that can be used in wastewater treatment. It has been shown to have dispersive properties and can hydrolyze at the hydroxy group. O-Acetyl isovanillin has been shown to react with copper oxide, which generates active oxygen species (AOS). This reaction has been shown to be mechanistically similar to the Fenton reaction. O-Acetyl isovanillin has also been shown to react with an electrochemical sensor, leading to a decrease in current. This reduction of current is due to the formation of AOS, which leads to oxidation of the electrode surface and results in decreased conductivity.
