4-Amino-5-azaindole is a cross-coupling reaction that can be used to synthesize derivatives of 5-azaindole. It is a cyclic amine with two nitrogen atoms and one carbon atom. 4-Amino-5-azaindole has been used in the palladium catalyzed cross coupling reaction to produce a variety of amines and heterocycles, including 4-chloro-7-azaindole. This compound also has a ligand binding site for metal ions such as dioxane, which may interact with other compounds. The crystal structure analysis of this compound shows that it has a rigid conformation with the amine group pointing upwards and the azaindole ring pointing downwards.
