Descripción:Alarmine is a drug that was first synthesized for the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases. It has been shown to reduce inflammation in animal models by inhibiting the production of inflammatory cytokines and prostaglandins. Alarmine also has promising results in animal models for the treatment of intestinal, liver, and colon cancers. Alarmine inhibits amyloid protein aggregation, which may be due to its ability to inhibit cathelicidin production. It also may have potential as a therapeutic agent for Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. Alarmine is an acid catalyst that can be used in organic synthesis because it can convert ethylene diamine into hexamethylenediamine.
