2-Allyloxyethanol is a glycol ether with a hydroxyl group. It is used as a solvent for inks, paints, varnishes and lacquers. 2-Allyloxyethanol exhibits good thermal stability, chemical stability and transport properties. It also has an excellent electrochemical impedance spectroscopy profile, which can be used to study cell nuclei. 2-Allyloxyethanol's most important property is its ability to dissolve p-hydroxybenzoic acid (PHBA) in low concentrations without affecting the PHBA's chemical structure or particle size. This property makes it an attractive candidate for use as a catalyst in the hydrogenation of fatty acids.
