Descripción:5-Amino-3-methylisothiazole HCl is a pyridine-5-carboxylic acid that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of both aeruginosa and nalidixic acid resistant strains of S. aureus, P. aeruginosa, and P. mirabilis in vitro. 5-Amino-3-methylisothiazole HCl has also been shown to be active against E. coli, quinolone resistant strains of Proteus mirabilis, and methicillin resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus in vitro.
