Descripción:
1-Amino-4-cyclopentylpiperazine is a cyclic compound that is prepared from the reaction of zinc powder and an organic solvent. The ring opening reaction of the cyclic compound with sodium carbonate in tetrahydrofuran yields 1-amino-4-cyclopentylpiperazine as a hydrolysis product. This compound can be crystallized by adding n-butyl alcohol to the reaction solution, followed by filtration and crystallization process. The yield of 1-amino-4-cyclopentylpiperazine can be increased by lowering the temperature during the crystallization process and using piperazine as a solvent. The product obtained has a crystalline polymorph with a melting point of 165°C.
