(R)-3-Aminopentanenitrile methanesulfonic acid salt is a medicine that is used industrially as an acid salt. It has a high yield and can be prepared from cyanide and methanesulfonic acid. It is used in the production of dyestuffs, resins, and plastics. This chemical has been shown to have a number of medicinal uses including for the treatment of chronic pain caused by cancer, as an antidote for cyanide poisoning, and for the treatment of epilepsy.
