• Descripción: 4-Aminophenylphosphorylcholine (4APPC) is a phospholipid that is a component of high density lipoproteins. 4APPC has been shown to have apoptotic activity in human plasma and serum samples. Apoptosis can be induced by c-reactive protein, which is found in the blood and is an important part of the immune system. The presence of 4APPC in HDL enhances its ability to induce apoptosis. It has also been shown that 4APPC binds to the surface of cells, which may be due to its similarity with the carbohydrate moiety of lipoproteins. This binding may lead to increased antigenicity and recognition by mouse anti-human antibodies on plates for biochemical analysis.
