Descripción:(S)-Amphetamine hydrochloride is a stimulant drug that is used in the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and depression. This drug has an effective dose of 5-30 mg/kg, which is administered through oral administration. It can also be given intravenously at doses up to 100 mg/kg. The safety profile of amphetamine is considered to be good and it has few side effects when taken in therapeutic doses. Amphetamine has been shown to increase locomotor activity in animals and humans, but this effect wears off with chronic use. Amphetamine may also have a depressant effect on the central nervous system, which would make it useful for the treatment of depressive disorders.
