Apomorphine hydrochloride is the salt form of apomorphine, a morphine derivative D2 dopamine agonist. The high selectivity for D2, D3, D4 and D5 receptors makes apomorphine hydrochloride a possible drug candidate and it is in clinical trials for diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson’s disease. Moreover, apomorphine and apomorphine hydrochloride have been investigated in diverse studies for treating movement disorders.
