7-Azagramine is a structural modification of the morpholine molecule that has been synthesised and tested for its affinity to dopamine D4 and D2 receptors. The modifications of 7-azagramine are based on the pharmacophore of the original compound, which is an amine group connected to two heterocyclic rings. The affinity of 7-azagramine for the D4 receptor was found to be significantly greater than that for D2. This suggests that 7-azagramine may be a useful drug for treating schizophrenia, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurological disorders.
