• Descripción: Azamethiphos is a bicyclic heterocycle that has been shown to have strong effects against bacterial strains. It inhibits the activity of mitochondrial cytochrome C oxidase, resulting in a loss of cellular energy and cell death. Azamethiphos has been shown to inhibit acetylcholinesterase, an enzyme responsible for the breakdown of acetylcholine, resulting in a loss of nerve function. The compound also inhibits other important enzymes such as cholinesterases and aminoglycosides, which are involved in the synthesis of DNA molecules. Azamethiphos does not show genotoxic effects in bacteria or mammalian cells and is not toxic to plants.
