S-[2-(4-Azidosalicylamido)ethylthio]-2-thiopyridine is a workstation that is used as a cross-linking agent. It has been shown to decrease the glomerular filtration rate, which may be due to its ability to promote vascular permeability. S-[2-(4-Azidosalicylamido)ethylthio]-2-thiopyridine has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the growth of cancer cells and neuronal death in some animal models. This drug has also been used for diagnostic purposes in the diagnosis of infectious diseases, such as HIV and hepatitis B. S-[2-(4-Azidosalicylamido)ethylthio]-2-thiopyridine's chemical stability makes it a good candidate for enhancing therapeutic drugs.
