It has been shown to be an effective antimicrobial agent with proteolytic and hypoglycemic effects in mice. 7SATM is able to inhibit the activity of human macrophages. This drug has also been shown to have diagnostic potential by binding to a monoclonal antibody that recognizes the myeloperoxidase enzyme on the surface of neutrophils.
