D-Alanine methyl ester HCl is a diamide with antimycobacterial activity. It was synthesized by the reaction of D-alanine and methyl acrylate in the presence of methanesulfonic acid. The chiral compound was obtained as a racemic mixture. Optical properties are not reported.
