It has been shown to be effective in inhibiting the growth of cancer cells and increasing their sensitivity to chemotherapy drugs. Ammonium perfluoro(2-methyl-3-oxahexanoate) is used in animal models to study the effects of cancer on protein transport, as well as to assess its toxicity.
