- 2-Propenal, 3-(4-Azidophenyl)-
- 3-(4-Azidophenyl)acrylaldehyde
4-Azidocinnamaldehyde is a potential biomarker for esophageal cancer, as it has been found to be expressed in tissues from patients with esophageal cancer. It can also be used to diagnose cancers that have not yet been identified. Additionally, 4-azidocinnamaldehyde has been shown to inhibit the replication of DNA and RNA in cells. This inhibition may be due to its ability to bind to the molecular target of DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are enzymes that maintain the integrity of bacterial DNA. The expression of this molecule has been found in petunia plants and cell cultures grown from human tissues.
