2-Amino-4-trifluoromethylbenzonitrile is a pharmaceutical agent that has antiviral and antimicrobial properties. It inhibits the growth of candida parapsilosis and the formation of biofilms by preventing the synthesis of proteins, nucleic acids, and polysaccharides. 2-Amino-4-trifluoromethylbenzonitrile also has a catalytic effect on gold nanoparticles in hydrogenation reactions. This compound is used to synthesize nitroarenes with different functional groups and yields.
