4-Allyloxy-2-hydroxybenzophenone is a functional group that has been used in the development of coatings. It can be used to provide an anti-corrosive, hydrophobic, and low-energy surface for materials such as cement, concrete, and plastics. This compound is also a proton acceptor and can be used for the preparation of high purity water by absorbing deionized water. 4-Allyloxy-2-hydroxybenzophenone has been shown to be able to absorb ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength range of 280 nm to 350 nm and fluoresce at wavelengths between 450 nm and 550 nm.
