Allyl propyl disulfide is a metabolic disorder that is caused by a deficiency in the activity of detoxification enzymes. This disorder affects the liver and kidneys, leading to severe damage to these organs. Allyl propyl disulfide can be treated with drugs that are used for other metabolic disorders such as phenobarbital and carbamazepine. These drugs increase the activity of detoxification enzymes, which break down allyl propyl disulfide and other toxins in the body. In addition, nitrogen atoms may be detected using photomultiplier tubes or solid phase microextraction. The natural compound can also be found in plants, such as garlic and onion, which have been shown to have anti-cancer properties in laboratory experiments.
