2-Amino-5-fluoro-3-bromopyridine is an aminopyridine compound that is a glutamate receptor subtype. It binds to the metabotropic glutamate receptor and has been shown to have a pharmacokinetic profile that is similar to that of dopamine. This drug has also been shown to be effective at inhibiting the binding of glutamate to the receptor, which results in decreased neurotransmitter release. 2-Amino-5-fluoro-3-bromopyridine has been studied in vitro for its ability to inhibit the binding of hydrogen ions and dopamine, as well as its catalytic activity.
