• Descripción: 1-Aminocyclopropanemethanol (ACP) is a spacer molecule that is used in the synthesis of fluorinated amino alcohols. It has been shown to bind to the benzotriazole ring of DNA and inhibit transcription by preventing the formation of hydrogen bonds between the bases. ACP also inhibits bacterial growth through a number of metabolic transformations, including aminolysis or hydrolysis by esterases or glucuronidases, oxidation by cytochrome P450 enzymes, reduction by glutathione reductase, or conjugation with glucuronic acid. The trifluoromethyl group on ACP can be substituted with a trifluoromethoxy group to form 1-aminocyclopropanemethanol (ACPM), which has increased activity against tuberculosis.
