H-D-Aza-OH hydrochloride is a drug that is used for the diagnosis of bacterial infections. It can be used to identify Staphylococcus aureus and other pathogenic bacteria by profiling surface proteins, which are involved in the adhesion process. This antibiotic is also used to identify causative agents of infectious diseases such as bacteria. The drug can be labeled with fluorescein and then applied to a culture plate. When the labeled H-D-Aza-OH hydrochloride binds to the bacteria, it will emit green light when exposed to blue light, making it easier to detect.
