The fluorescence of tryptophan can be used as a probe to detect the presence of 1-amino-2-naphthol-4-sulfonic acid in a solution. This reaction mechanism suggests that adsorption is the dominating process for 1-amino-2-naphthol-4-sulfonic acid.
