This compound has also been shown to have an analog that binds with amines and is active as a methylene acceptor. The reaction products of 2-amino-3-formylchromone are crystalline, which can be used for structural analysis. This compound also reacts with active oxygen during oxidation and produces carcinogenic compounds. 2-Amino-3-formylchromone can be used in the treatment of leukemia cells or other cancer cells that do not respond to other drugs.
