Descripción

2-Amino-1,3-benzothiazole-6-carboxylic acid ethyl ester is an anti-cancer agent. It inhibits the activity of tumor necrosis factor (TNF), which has been shown to be a major mediator of inflammation and tissue damage in cancer. The compound also has been shown to have a specific profile for cancer cells with high TNF levels. This molecule is structurally similar to urokinase, an enzyme that aids in the breakdown of blood clots. 2-Amino-1,3-benzothiazole-6-carboxylic acid ethyl ester is currently being evaluated for use as an active alkaloid in phase I clinical trials.
