Nombre:Acid black 2
Sinónimos:
- C.I. 50420
Marca:Biosynth
Descripción:Acid black 2 is a dye that was originally used as a textile dye, but has since been found to be toxic to humans. The most common route of exposure is through ingestion or inhalation. It has been shown to have an optimum concentration in maternal blood samples between 0.1 and 1.0 μg/mL. Acid Black 2 is adsorbed by the plasma proteins in human blood and accumulates in the liver, kidneys, and spleen. This chemical can inhibit the synthesis of basic proteins in the liver, which may lead to liver damage. In addition, this compound also inhibits photosynthesis in bacteria and nigrosine production in melanocytes.
A study on x-ray diffraction data revealed that Acid Black 2 binds to glycol ethers and monoethyl ethers with high affinity at an amide bond site. This binding leads to changes in polymer composition by inhibiting the formation of polymers with long chains made up of repeating units of amino acids or sugars.
