4-Amyloxybenzaldehyde is a phenylhydrocarbons with a hydrophobic character. It has been shown to have an interaction with crystal x-ray diffraction and antiradical activity against anilines. 4-Amyloxybenzaldehyde has also been shown to be a ligand for the mononuclear copper(II) complex, which is used in organic synthesis. This compound has been found to be effective in cosmetically as it exhibits optical properties that are found in many perfumes. 4-Amyloxybenzaldehyde's methyl groups can be oxidized by hydrogen peroxide, leading to an increase in its hydrophobicity.
