Descripción:Attapulgite is an aluminum-silicate clay mineral that has a high cation exchange capacity and is chemically stable. It can be used to remove toxic substances from wastewater by absorbing them and then releasing them in the form of water vapor. Attapulgite has been shown to react with malonic acid, forming hydrogen bonding interactions that result in the formation of a chitosan polymer. This reaction may be due to the presence of hydroxyl groups on attapulgite’s surface.
