2-Amino-6-chlorobenzylamine is a potentiating agent that can be used to potentiate the effects of other drugs. It has shown to have antinociceptive effects in assays using tail-flick and hot plate tests. This drug has been shown to act as an agonist for 5-HT3 receptors, which are involved in pain modulation. 2-Amino-6-chlorobenzylamine is also able to bind to adrenoceptors, leading to a reduction in the sensitivity of these receptors. 2-Amino-6-chlorobenzylamine is an analog of clonidine, which is a drug used for the treatment of hypertension and chronic pain.
2-Amino-6-chlorobenzylamine has been shown to potentiate the effects of clonidine by increasing its binding affinity with adrenergic receptors.
