Ac-S-D-K-P is a novel compound that is being investigated for its potential use as an anticancer agent. Ac-S-D-K-P has been shown to inhibit the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in vitro, and can potentially be used for the treatment of cancer. The mechanism of action of Ac-S-D-K-P is not known; however, it may work by inhibiting the growth factor β1 or toll like receptor. Acetylation, deamination, and phosphorylation are three biochemical properties that have been studied in vitro with Ac-S-D-K-P. The compound has also been tested in vivo in rats and mice with bowel disease. These studies demonstrated that Ac-S-D-K is safe for long term use at doses up to 100mg/kg body weight, which means it could potentially be used for the treatment of cancer without toxicity to healthy tissues.
