1-(2-Fluoro-1,1'-biphenyl-4-yl)ethanone is an organic compound that is a colorless liquid with a pleasant odor. 1-(2-Fluoro-1,1'-biphenyl-4-yl)ethanone is used as an ether and alcohol solvent, as well as in the preparation of pharmaceuticals. It can be used as a hydrocarbon solvent and peroxide catalyst. The product reacts with bicarbonate to produce hydrogen peroxide. 1-(2-Fluoro-1,1'-biphenyl-4-yl)ethanone does not react with iodine or halogens but does react with strong oxidizing agents such as peroxides and ozone.
