Información del producto
4-Amino-5-Fluoropent-2-Enoic Acid is an inactivator of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) that binds to the active site of GABA and deactivates it by forming a covalent bond. It is synthesized by the enzyme glutamate decarboxylase and has been found to have antihypertensive effects. The most common form of this drug is 4-Amino-5-(3,4,5,6-tetrahydro)pentanoic acid. This compound is an inhibitor of the enzyme GABA transaminase, preventing the conversion of GABA to succinic semialdehyde. When it binds to the active site of GABA, it also reacts with chloride ions in order to form a covalent bond. This drug can be used as a radiolabeled substrate for studying catalytic reactions and reconstituted enzymes.
