Descripción

[(2R,3R,5R)-5-(6-Aminopurin-9-Yl)-3-Fluorooxolan-2-Yl]Methanol is an immunosuppressive agent that belongs to the class of carbocyclic purines. It is a prodrug that is metabolized to 6-aminopurine (6AP), which suppresses the immune system by interfering with the synthesis of DNA and RNA in T cells and B cells. The effective dose for humans has been shown to be 0.4 mg/kg/day for 2 weeks. [(2R,3R,5R)-5-(6-Aminopurin-9-Yl)-3-Fluorooxolan-2-Yl]Methanol has been shown to inhibit cellular proliferation in human lymphocytes. This drug is not active against viruses or other cytopathogens.
